If you’re feeling adventurous, take a catamaran ferry out past Key West to the Dry Tortugas. This small island is home to a fortress (previously a Civil War-era prison) surrounded by water! You can spend the day swimming, snorkeling, and exploring the fort with your Valentine.

February is also prime time to go whale-watching in San Diego — it is peak Gray Whale season. Take a private tour boat off the coast for a once-in-a-lifetime experience whale watching!
Or spend quality time with your significant other at La Jolla Cove. This secluded beach is perfect for swimming, scuba diving, and kayaking. Enjoy the easy hiking trails or check out the sea caves. You might even see sea lions!

If you seek a good southern meal in an intimate setting, go to the Olde Pink House. This 18th-century mansion-turned-restaurant serves up classic “Low country” cuisine.

Just outside of Brunswick is St. Simons Island, one of Georgia’s barrier islands.
Choose this location if you’re looking for sleepy marshlands and Spanish moss canopies. Known for luxury golf courses and spas, St. Simons makes for an ideal choice for Valentine’s weekend getaways!
If you want to get out and see the sites, rent couple’s bikes. There are bike paths all around St. Simons Island or you can ride bikes along the beach at low tide.
Next, head to the Island Day Spa for a couple’s Date Night Package to freshen up before dinner.

This lovely southern city is a charm with colorful buildings, horse-drawn carriages along cobblestone streets, and sandy beaches. It is also a place we from the Northeast like to visit in the US to escape the freezing winter — even if it is not super hot during February.
For your romantic getaway, I recommend taking a walking tour together through downtown Charleston. You’ll stroll down cobblestone roads surrounded by palm trees, rainbow-colored buildings, and adorable shops.

13. Maui, Hawaii
For Valentine’s weekend getaways off the mainland, check out Maui. It’s the second-largest of the Hawaiian Islands and has amazing resorts.

You can take the Road to Hana tour. You’ll enjoy the breathtaking waterfalls along the way and can even go for a swim with your Valentine!

Or, on the southern coast, take an easy hike from the Four Seasons Resort to Sweetheart Rock. You’ll love taking pictures of the stunning rock formations. There’s a sweet legend of a pair of lovers involving the rocks.
