I joined Saigon Food Tours while visiting Ho Chi Minh City and got a taste of southern Vietnamese cuisine via chauffeuring ladies on Vespas!

If you are wondering about the best way to explore the delicious street, restaurant, and local foods of Saigon, check out these photos and my review of the unique food tour.

We joined the “Saigon by Night” tour with about 6 other guests to be guided through the busy streets of Saigon and explore southern Vietnam’s authentic cuisine.

Picked up at our hotel, our English-speaking guides were very sweet and excited to show us their city. They ensured our helmets were safely secured and calmly drove through hectic rush hour traffic to meet everyone else.

Our guides tried to be chatty and bubbly but honestly, the traffic was so loud that it was difficult to even hear what they were saying while we rode!

Once our group got together, they quickly worked out the orders and got us eating right away. It was really fun eating in a group and getting to know everyone.

Here are photos of some of the dishes we enjoyed, including rice paper rolls, rice cakes,  different dipping sauces, soups, and Vietnamese-style barbecue.

Stop 1:

Street food with outdoor seating!

Stop 2:

Soup!

Stop 3:

Barbeque and rice cakes.

Stop 4:

Dessert!

Extras:

Along with delicious-tasting food and a full belly, Saigon Food Tours also made sure we got to explore a bit of the district and have moments for photos.

After more than three hours of riding and eating, we were swiftly escorted back to our hotel, extremely pleased with the experience.

My Recommendation:

Definitely choose a food tour for your experience. Saigon Food Tours really helped with letting me get to know the city better and make a few friends. I was able to comfortably enjoy the rest of my trip and culinary opportunities in Vietnam knowing I’ve already tasted a few of their authentic fares.
