I’ve practiced yoga for years, but fell in love with it in 2014 after living at a yoga resort for two months in Costa Rica. Immediately thereafter, I completed an intensive 200 RYT training with YogaWorks in NYC and set on to incorporate more yoga and mindfulness into my lifestyle for better health.

Then I started traveling again and yoga classes weren’t so easy to find (or were simply out of my budget). Now I am always on the hunt for free online yoga classes to keep my practice fresh while I travel.

Since high-ticket yoga resorts and drop-in class fees can add up, I found amazing websites and instructors that offer free yoga videos online. I even had the chance to work with a few. Here’s what I recommend for accessing some of the best online yoga classes for free, wherever you are!

Do Yoga With Me: Yoga for Better Health

For years, DoYogaWithMe has been one of my favorite free yoga websites to recommend for online classes. They offer great yoga videos for beginners, intermediate, and advanced levels for different durations; I particularly value their quickie yoga instruction for my busy schedule.

When I am in a hurry I choose a 10 to 20-minute yoga video. When I have more time I try a 45-minute video.

Yoga With Adriene: Accessible Yoga Options

I love when yoga videos help guide you on your wellness journey by showcasing sequences that target specific circumstances. Yoga with Adriene, for instance, has videos on “Yoga for Vulnerability”, “Yoga for Vertigo”, “Yoga to Heal Stress”, etc.

If you are seeking relief but don’t know the best yoga poses to help remedy those situations or challenges, try Yoga With Adriene’s free yoga videos to start.

Yoga Accessibility Tip: Know someone in a wheelchair (or who has other lower-body disabilities) who could benefit from a seated yoga practice? Try this modified chair yoga sequence perfect for Wheelchair Yoga by Yoga with Adriene.

Edyn Loves Life: Plus Size Yoga Videos

Yoga is for everyone, every size! When searching for yoga videos for curvier bodies, I found more videos to help one get into a particular pose (and adjustments for their body type) than lengthier yoga flows and sequences to help build a consistent practice. We need more yoga flows!

I stumbled across Edyn Loves Life, a plus-size yoga instructor with a collection of free yoga videos on YouTube. The YouTube Yoga Universe also led me to curated user playlists, collecting the best yoga videos from different pages.

Here are some plus-size yoga playlists I think are great:

Blind Alive: Audio Yoga Classes

If you are seeking more yoga resources for people with visual impairments or blindness, I found a website called Blind Alive that offers 22 free yoga audio classes.

Yoga audio classes aren’t promoted as much as in-person classes in the wellness world, but if you think of your own past yoga class experiences, you’ll notice much of the class instruction is followed audibly rather than visually anyway! So these audio yoga classes can be great for many people.

Yoga Green Book: Diverse Yoga Videos

Another inclusive website for yoga videos, Yoga Green Book’s membership-based subscription service offers a number of ways to still access free yoga videos. Here’s how to watch diverse yoga videos from the largest video library by black yoga teachers:

  • Sign up for the Yoga Green Book free 30-day trial
  • Follow free yoga challenges on their YouTube channel

MyYogaWorks: Popular Online Yoga Instructors

After my yoga teacher training I had access to MyYogaWorks because of my new membership with Yoga Works. However, once my discounted subscription was over, and my travel expenses kicked up, I simply had to shave off the extra expense.

That said, I still think the resources were great and videos, extremely high quality. So, even though Yoga Works isn’t completely free, here are two ways you can experience MyYogaWorks’ online yoga classes for free:

  1. Sign up for My Yoga Works 14-day free trial
  2. Get a taste of MyYogaWorks with their free video library. From a full body strength flow to a lower body booty flow and plank challenge — this might be just enough!

UDAYA Yoga + Fitness: Yoga en Español

If you feel more comfortable strengthening your yoga practice with free Spanish yoga videos, or are trying to improve your Spanish speaking skills, you may enjoy UDAYA Yoga & Fitness’ free “Spanish Yoga Videos” playlist on YouTube.

FYI: It sounds like the videos speak in Spain Spanish, but it is still easy to understand the instructions since they speak slower. If you know of any Puerto Rican yoga videos in Spanish let me know so I can add it!

Yo Re Mi: Kids Yoga videos

If you travel with kids and are looking for mindfulness and yoga wherever you go, Yo Re Mi gives a fun musical spin on yoga. They have a few ways you can access free yoga online:

SarahBethYoga: Prenatal Yoga Videos

Pregnant people deserve just as much yoga as the next person — if not, more! SaraBethYoga’s hugely popular YouTube channel not only has a great collection of free prenatal yoga videos, she also offers postnatal yoga too!

This channel isn’t exclusive to pregnancy, you’ll find tons of 5-30 minute free online yoga videos here to fit your style and yoga practice goals.

Try Free Online Yoga Videos at Home or on Your Next Vacation

We may not be able to travel, due to the current pandemic, but we will again one day. Until then, you can take advantage of these free yoga classes online while at home to keep your body moving and mind at peace.

By the time you make it to your next vacation, you’ll know which platforms you love most! When it is safe to travel again, you can continue your practice abroad, on road trips, or anywhere your wanderlust takes you!

xx, O.
