Product Note: I received this action camera gratis to provide a real-life product review. The evaluation is based on my own experiences filming in various settings.
For four months my boyfriend and I traversed North America in a 2003 BMW 3 Series with a Thule cargo box, backpacks, snowboarding equipment, camping gear, and a rotation of visiting friends in tow.
To document the trip I alternated between my iPhone 6s, Alex’s Note 5, Fujifilm’s Instax Mini, and the Kaiser Baas X150 Wifi Pro-Action Camera. This post will be a review of the X150’s packaging and accessories, and show footage results.Â
In the box
I received the X150 in immaculate packaging. The hard plastic exterior was even protected with bubble wrap so naturally I needed a bubble wrapping-pop break before moving any further. #Innerchild
When I finally got to open the package I found it super difficult to figure out how to get the damn camera out of the box.
Hint: it’s from the bottom.Â
The package includes:
- X150 action camera
- waterproof case
- changeable attachments and adhesives
- owner’s manual
- charging cord (USB)
- remote control watch
I also received an extension arm (sold separately from Kaiser Baas) that fits both GoPro and Kaiser Baas action cameras.
X150 Action Camera Features and Notes
The X150 features an LCD screen for playback and it is sure to get you stoked about it. Note: battery life is pretty standard for an action camera so too much reviewing will make it die quickly. The screen is also difficult to review in sunlight so find some shade for playback!
The wrist remote watch is pretty awesome as well. It took a few days to figure it out and have it pair with the camera successfully, though. But once I did, it was easy to operate.
With an underwater case, I’ll admit that road-tripping throughout the desert and chilly north hasn’t allowed for real adventure footage underwater — however, I’ve tested the waterproof case with an industrial sink submersion with no leaking. I’ll be sure to update this section if that changes. The case is tested to go up to 30 meters deep so I have high expectations!
Other camera features include video, still photos, time-lapse, and the option to choose from a range of resolutions. I primarily shot 1080p at 60fps.
As for memory and battery life, the camera lasted about 2.5 hours with full use and held up to 32GB of memory. The SD memory card isn’t included so I went to Walmart and purchased a Class 10 32GB, as recommended in the manual.
Another thing to note is the camera froze a few times while recording, which resulted in the loss of that particular footage. I recommend recording in short intervals in an effort to “quick save”. You can put it all together later.
Love it or Hate it?
To test the action camera, I used it in Colorado (white snow, cold weather, bright blue sky), New Mexico (bright sun, hot weather, and neutral colored landscape), and varying lighting. Check out X150 footage from my short YouTube video below and hear what I loved and disliked about the Kaiser Baas action camera:
Have you tried out the Kaiser Baas X150 wifi pro-action camera?
Investing in an action camera is a great alternative for people who are worried about using their phones or DSLRs in not-so-safe conditions (like sports and underwater). Let me know what you think of the action camera or if you plan on purchasing it! Overall, it’s a fun device that is easy to learn how to use and great for your next adventure.

I’ve just bought one and wondered what you edit the video with? Thanks!
Awesome, enjoy! I use iMovie to edit my movies. This review was one of my first few so I used very basic features in the application. It is free and easy to use! Good luck 🙂
Hi, wondering if you have tried the X150 underwater? Thanks
Yes, I finally got a chance to try it underwater during my trip to Aruba. Check out the video featuring some underwater shots at http://youtu.be/fj2U2NacCuA
This is great, but I found another good camera, it’s AKASO EK7000 4K wifi sports action camera, cheap and good quality, really worth looking at it, then you can do a different review,it will be great.
Sweet! I’ll definitely look into it. Thanks 🙂
Do you know any dome ports that for this camera??
No I don’t — sorry! Try emailing customer service for a recommendation.
